Dateline: Sunday, December 12th | Received following text message - "There is a carnival by my house, let's go photograph it!!!!!!"  And the adventure began. Kelly, Danielle and I bundled up, charged up our iPhones and grabbed some ride tokens. It was too much fun. Above are some of the shots and what apps we used. iPhone App: Hipstamatic/Dali GoodPack Limited Edition

Okay, not only do I "heart" paper, but many of you know that I am an iPhoneography enthusiast. I wanted to make sure you are aware of one of my most favorite iPhone apps HIPSTAMATIC. Yes, it has been around since the beginning of 2010. But, you may not know that the Hipsta folks have begun to release limited edition film and lenses for the Hipstamatic called GoodPaks. The first is the DALI DREAMSCAPE. It was released in November and will only be available to buy/download as an in-app purchase until January 12th. It is the first ever GoodPak. It has a Salvador 84 Lens which creates random, surrealist overlays. And, Salvador 200, is a painterly, dreamy film in this pak. Below is one of my shots using this GoodPak from Hipstamatic. Do yourself a favor and get it before it is too late.  And if that wasn't enough, on December 10th (tomorrow!!) - the HOLIDAY GOODPAK is being released. Carnovsky's RGB Wall Paper

Please take a moment and a click on the mouse to check out this amazing wall paper exhibit blogged about at CREATIVE REVIEW.  It is stunningly amazing and I have no words. An Italian studio has created wallpapers that react to different colored lights. This second set in the series is being featured in a exhibition at the Johanssen Gallery in Berlin.  Overlapping patterns and elements are revealed only under through the color (RGB) of light that shines upon them. Lovely. 

AIGA Austin Annual Report | Paper & Design Goodness

 

I got my copy of the AIGA AUSTIN'S Annual Report last night at the Membership Party. It was designed by Thom Gehring & Jared Tanner of local creative company  - GEHRING CO.   It seems these two are quite handy with a needle also. Each piece has been lovingly, hand-stitched in butterscotch-yellow, waxed linen thread. Olmsted-Kirk was extremely delighted to donate the paper for this project with Randy McCranie from FRENCH PAPER. The cover is POPTONE, Chocolate Fudge, 100 Cover printed in metallic silver and embossed. The inside pages are SMART WHITE, 100 Text. Put simply, it is a gorgeous specimen of design and paper. It goes in my "keeper" file. Thank you Thom and Jared at Gehring Co.!
