Cloth and Columns: Printed Inspiration

Two of my favorite mills,  GMUND and NEENAH were selected for these stunning invitation/event materials. The materials were created for a high end donor function benefiting Texas State's theater department and student scholarships. I was giddy with excitement to help consult on the paper for this project with the fine folks of  the Texas State marketing department (thanks, Julie and Hoyt). Have you seen this Gmund KASCHMIR in Red Cloth? It is so soft and it is just like printing onto fabric. For this project, the Kaschmir was foil stamped in silver and the detail achieved is simply amazing. (I included a picture of the die used for the foil stamping.) Kaschmir was a perfect choice for this theme because it mimics the  theater's red, velvet curtains so well. The Kaschmir was then die cut into a neo-classic shape and tipped onto a debossed and folded card of CLASSIC COLUMNS in Epic Black. The interior of the Columns invite was also foil stamped in silver. And then everything was placed snuggly into a Reich SHINE No. 10 envelope in Silver. Bravo! Curtain call, please!

My journal bandolier from Emily at CLEVERHANDS arrived today. It's a strap fitted with small loops for carrying pens, pencils, and other handy tools that can be wrapped around a journal, planner, or other book. It's handmade using fabric and elastic and fits easily around books such as my Moleskine 5.52x8.25 inch journal. I am one of those people that likes to put things down on paper and this bandolier has 7 loops that can hold my different pens/brushes/pencils. Unlike a pencil case it stays with my book keeping all my stuff exactly where I need it to jot, draw and paint. Emily also makes these out of reclaimed rubber. Be sure to check out her shop.

A Study in Watercolor on Classic Crest

Mail call! Today's delivery included my card order from DEAR HANCOCK. The moment I stumbled on these cards I was drooling. They were a "must have".  The cards and wrapping paper were inspired by watercolor palette studies that the husband and wife team at DH were creating. You know, sometimes simply the process can be the inspiration. They come in a cool (my fav) and a warm (but equally as cool) color scheme. With fingers crossed, I contacted the fine folks at Dear Hancock and asked "What paper is this printed on?".  They told me they love Neenah, French and Wausau - all fantastic mills that I rep. With my trusty eye and hand, the stock choice was confirmed today on arrival. Bingo! These gorgeous specimens are reproduced on FSC certified, Neenah CLASSIC CREST, Classic Natural White. Love this sheet. Now, who gets snail mail from me on these lovelies??
