Hipstamatic Adds Multi Exposure Kit

This weekend the latest Hipstamatic 260 upgrade arrived. It comes with a slick multi exposure kit. You can now snap double, triple, even quadruple exposure photos. It's 99 cents and available in your Hipstamart within the app. I have begun experimenting with black and white with the kit. It's great to see how the different Hipstamatic gear of film and lens combos change with the exposures.  Additionally, with this upgrade, you get new views on your prints and stacks and the app supports portrait and landscape orientations. Plus, the flash switch has been retooled to be super easy. The flash stays on until you turn it off.  And included is a "Rock the Vote" film pack just in time for the election. I'll post some photos shortly.

Just downloaded the new Hipstamatic update. Sharing just got easier! Hipstmatic 250 includes some sweet new sharing features, including uploading to Instagram!

Also Included in the Hipstamatic Update:

• New tag equipment icon lets you tag lens, film and flash used
• Tag friends in Facebook from within the Hipstamatic app
• Zoom in and swipe images to easily flip through HipstaPrints

Great Hipstamatic Sidekick: @Hipstamatch

 

 

Here is a perfect companion to my favorite Hipstamatic camera app. And it's right on your iPhone in the form of an downloadable app. It's called Hipstamatch. It's quite helpful. Whenever I teach a class on iPhoneography, I have a printed hand-out with the full grid of  film/lens combinations. It's lovely on paper but with over 420 combinations available now; the hand-out was becoming quite cramped and hard to reference. With Hipstamatch you can have the complete reference right on your iPhone. And if the app developer keeps up with the new lens/film packs as they come out, it will be a home run. Remember, this is a reference app. It does not process, import and take any photos. It has been created by a third party that is not affiliated with the Hipstamatic creators but it is well worth a dollar to download.

Americana Free Pak from Hipstamatic

Oh say can you see by dawn's blurry light...

I love iPhoneography and my favorite camera app has to be Hipstamatic. I fell in love with this photo app upon download. It's quirky saturartion and square format shots had me hooked immediately. Today, Hipstamatic announced that they have partnered with GQ fashion photographer, Chiun-Kai Shih again to create the "Made in America FreePak". It is a limited edition lens and case, just in time for New York Fashion Week. Remember last year's Chunky lens from the MAC and Milk fashion pak? Inspired by this season’s fashion aesthetic, the Made in America FreePak lens has a retro blur with a bluish vintage tint. From today til the 16th, users can download this must-have lens and the "Old Glory" case for free. On the February 17th, Hipstamatic will add two films and the Made in America HipstaPak (lens, case, and two films) will go on sale for $0.99.  I am excited about the new Blanko Freedom 13 Film since Blanko is my most utilized film to date. The other film available will be  US1776 film. You will be able to download the pak as an in-app purchase.

To celebrate the collaboration, Hipstamatic and Shih have given nine designers early access to the Americana lens to capture their journeys through New York Fashion Week, culminating in a curated fashion showcase on February 16, 2012, at a gallery in New York City. Looking for just the right combo of film and lenses on your Hipstamatic? Check out Hipstamatrix. It's a clever website by Ben Gremillion  and Cherie Benoit. Everyone knows how much I love Hipstamatic. It is my "go to" photo app on my iPhone 4s. I have been shooting with it since it hit the app store and have taught a workshop or two on it as well. Initially, I was drawn to the app because of the square format shots but quickly fell in love with the lens/film combos to create photography that mimics found art. Happy Hipsta!

Print your Personal Mini Newspaper!

Love this. It's called the Little Printer. It uses your iPhone (or other smartphones) to gather info, news, and puzzles into a personalized mini newspaper. This friendly, wireless, compact cube is a thermal printer so it's inkless and prints onto thermal rolls of paper. Free Nike "HipstaPak" for Hipstamatic

Do not miss this new film pak if you love black and white shots on your square format HIPSTAMATIC. Nike has partnered with photographer Chris Hornbecker and Hipstamatic to create a HipstaPak that includes this "you gotta download and use"  black and white film set. The film comes in two options with either a black or white border.  Just used it for a couple shots and fell instantly in love. Really great contrast and tonal range. I highly recommend it.  This pak will be available throught the month of June and is free for all Hipstamatic users to download in-app at the Hipstamart. They have thrown in a commerative case (pictured above) also - aluminum shell with orange leather grip. Let the downloading begin.

Hipstmatic Update | Bondi Hipstapak

iPhoneographers! Get your Hipstamatic app updated! 210 is out with a load of updates to the app. Including a free lens - Buckhorst H1. And available for in app purchase -  the Bondi Hipstapak featuring the BEN WATTS lens (you know him, famous photographer, Naomi's brother). The Bondi Hipstapak is only available for download until September. The other big inclusion in this update is the pinch-to-enlarge viewfinder (with tap-anywhere photo shooting while zoomed). No more whining about that small view finder, although it never bothered me. Hipsta!!

 

"fromtheHIP" Design Ranch

Couldn't let another minute go by before I gushed about AIGA Austin's 2011 Design Ranch. It was amazing and I was so proud to lead a workshop and share my passion for the HIPSTAMATIC app. More about the actual workshop tomorrow and looking at plastic bubble wrap, candy wrappers, etc. in a whole new way. Thank you to each of you that took my workshop and shared your smiles and Hipstas with me. I will remember it always. And a big shout out to my employer, Olmsted-Kirk Paper, for sponsoring this workshop. I have set up a group on flickr called "fromtheHIP" for the ranchers to post their creations and to continue to share Hipstamatic creations. Help me get the word out.
